Day 1: Introduction
Greetings! Welcome to my blog! My name is Katie, and I am excited to share my experiences with you as we go through this blog journey together. I hope you enjoy my content, and I hope you comment back on my posts and give me feedback so that we may interact and take this blog to a more, personal level. Today, I'm simply introducing myself. No wild topics...yet.I'll be taking on the challenge of a 31 day blog where I write about different topics. I'm merely doing this to help ease into the world of blogging. Then, I'm on my own! So, let's begin...
As I said before, my name is Katie. I'm a 26 year old, Romanian mother. I have a loving husband, son, and two cats. I live in the exotic lands of Tennessee...Ok, ok, I know I can be hard on Tennessee a lot because I don't consider myself a "southern belle". To be fair, Nashville has actually become very diverse and full of culture. I was just talking about this with my husband the other day. You just have to know where to look. I've been such a homebody lately, but this year, I hope to get out a little bit more and explore the events that Middle Tennessee has to offer.(Forgive my tangents...I go off on them frequently, but I'd rather let you know as many details as I can fit in! It's like Shrek says, 'Ogres are like onions. Ogres have layers. I'm no ogre, and I certainly hope I don't smell like an onion, but I'm definitely a complex creature!-End tangent-)
My life isn't too exciting. I'm a bank teller by day and a mother and wife by afternoon to night-Ok, well, all the time, really. That job never stops. I have the best son a mother could ask for. I didn't know I had it in to be a mother till I had no other choice, but it's been one of the best experiences of my life. I'm also mother to two fur babies. Their names are Chewie and Anubis(But we call him Nu-Nu for short.) I also feel like I'm a mother to a 26 year old man...but I guess he's just embracing his inner child, and I've learned to just let my husband be. I figure it's probably keeping his health and youth in check.
So, other than identifying with my family, let me tell you some things about myself. Anyone that knows me knows I love music. I love to sing and listen to music. I don't want to sound boastful, but I can sing opera and other types of music like pop and Broadway, for example. The most I've done musically is take voice lessons, been part of choirs, and taking classes in music, but I always wished I did more, but let's keep this on a positive note.
I'm a huge movie buff and a nerd. I love to play video games, but more so on the old school side. I can't believe I'm having to consider my Playstation 2 to be old school! It feels like only yesterday it was the hot item! Like I said, I'm a movie buff, too. My husband and I spend a lot of time at the theater, which rocks by the way cause it's been upgraded to fanciness with recliner seats.
I also consider myself to be a foodie, makeup enthusiast, and animal lover. I'm also someone that loves to laugh and be silly, but also loves to relax and take naps. I gotta say, even though I'm 26, I still haven't quite figured out what I want to do with my life career-wise. My passions are what I've listed, food, music, makeup, animals, and it would be amazing to dabble in those things for a career, but sometimes, I just don't know how to get there. However, I know I can be a bit of a worry wart and anxious, but the reality is, I'm young, and I have plenty of time to learn where God wants me to be...which is hopefully traveling someday! I have a deep desire to travel and explore the world, and hopefully, I'll get that chance one day, but I know it's not just up to chance, but rather hard work, dedication, and patience.
Anyways, I'll have to apologize again for my tangents, but now you know that's just a part of my personality. Lots of ideas rummaging around my brain, a little unfocused, but very opinionated! I guess this is the end of my first entry, but before I go, let me post a recent photo of myself so you have at least some reference of me!
